Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Cato. By using the app or the Relay add-on you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

The service

Cato is a tool that lets you supervise, approve and steer AI coding agents — such as Claude Code and Codex — from your phone. It consists of a desktop agent that runs on your own computer and a mobile app. Relay is a paid add-on that lets your phone and desktop connect when they are not on the same network.

Eligibility & account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Cato. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and you are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping access to it secure.

Subscription & billing

Relay PRO costs €9 per month or €90 per year and is billed through Stripe. New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. After the trial the subscription auto-renews for successive periods until you cancel; you can cancel at any time, yourself, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The prices shown are the amounts charged. Where EU consumer law applies, your statutory right of withdrawal is unaffected by these terms.

The free, local Cato app keeps working without a subscription — Relay is the only paid part.

Acceptable use

You are solely responsible for the coding agents you run and for everything they do on your machine. Cato is a supervision and approval layer that helps you see and decide what agents do; it is not a substitute for your own review, and approving an action means you accept its consequences. You agree not to use Cato for any unlawful purpose.

Disclaimers & liability

Cato is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for actions taken by the agents you run, nor for any damage or data loss resulting from operations you approve. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the service is limited accordingly. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by a reasonable means before it takes effect.

Governing law

Cato is operated by Lokalny s.r.o. (Slovakia). These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic and the European Union, and the courts of Slovakia have jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence continue to apply.
